I am very thankful for the gift of pain, for it has taught me to slow down, and to enjoy life a lot more. Pain has taught me to be more empathetic to the pain and suffering of others. I am thankful for finding out who my true friends are because it is only while going through a true crises in your life, that you will make this discovery. I am closer to my family after the experience of IC. This is a gift that I have longed for for many years.
I am also thankful that after three and half extremely difficult years on the yeast elimination diet, that I was able to perservere, and have regained a lot of my health. The body is an amazing instrument, which can be healed with nutrition, supplements, rest, and loving care. I am grateful to have learned that I have the power to take back my life on every level by making positive choices in my life.
IC is a painful, humiliating, isolating disease. But I am thankful for the lessons about myself and about life that it has taught me. During this week of "Thanks-giving", I give thanks for all of the lessons, and for my friends and family's support.
